The Australian Defence Department approached Artso/V&F to look at producing a replacement head for the Leopard Tank which they were sourcing from Germany and having concerns with. The head had to be able to use the existing alloy head componentry, but was to be produced in cast iron.

The original heads were flow tested etc, and the tooling was made. From this tooling an initial batch of 200 heads were produced and underwent extensive testing. The heads have now passed all required testing procedures and are now fully approved for use by the Australian Defence Department.

The testing was carried out independently by the Orbital Engine Co. with the cooperation of Tenix. All reports and results are available on request. To date we have successfully produced and supplied over six hundred heads.

We are now positioned to supply other markets and as such we are now pursuing these opportunities.
